Nuon Foundation
The Nuon Foundation stimulates Nuon employees to do social and community work for no personal gain and supports them in this endeavour.
The Nuon Foundation was set up in December 2005. In March 2006 an internal campaign was conducted to highlight this new initiative. The Foundation wants to inspire employees to do voluntary work and make a difference for others. We believe that this leads to personal growth and greater social awareness at work and at home. Nuon employees can go to the Foundation for:
- Information on supply and demand of voluntary work;
- Financial support for a worthwhile cause for which they themselves do voluntary work.
The cause must be beneficial to society in the core countries of the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany. The financial support granted by the Foundation is exclusively available to employees of Nuon. One condition for obtaining financial support is that at least one extra Nuon employee also starts doing voluntary work for the supported cause.
In 2006 over 300 employees found their way to the Foundation. They set up their own projects, took part in activities of the Foundation or helped their colleagues with their voluntary work.
