Gathering information
The information in the online Sustainability Report 2006 and the Sustainable Nuon Magazine 2006 came about through a joint effort of staff and external stakeholders.
Quantitative information
The figures collected in this report are the result of the efforts of numerous employees. A growing number of data are recorded on a structural basis in information systems at group or business level. In addition, business units report from their own sources. With the aid of structured digital questionnaires, the corporate centre gathers the data using the same approach as used for financial reporting purposes. The data are internally and externally verified prior to publication.
Qualitative information
The qualitative information was collected by means of:
- Digital requests for information from 60 Nuon employees;
- Interviews with 41 employees and management members;
- Interviews and roundtable discussions with 12 external stakeholders.
Verification of information
The quality of the information in the Sustainability Report was verified by means of internal assessments. On the basis of GRI G3, the supplied data were checked for compliance with the guidelines. On request of Nuon the GRI organisation has assessed the Sustainability Report 2006 and assigned the report C-plus status. The information in this online report was verified by independent external experts of PricewaterhouseCoopers Accountants NV.
