Netwerk Services (NWS)

Network Services undertakes activities involving the construction, maintenance and management of infrastructure for the transportation and delivery of electricity, gas and heating. The area in which NWS is active covers about a third of the Netherlands.

Products for both consumers and the business market

NWS is responsible for connecting homes and businesses to the energy grids and for the construction and maintenance of the grids. It is also responsible for the efficient restoration of energy supply in the event of power failures or damage.
Nuon Warmte focuses on the re-use of residual heat, a by-product of industrial processes such as electricity production and/or waste incineration. Moreover, this business unit delivers environmentally-friendly cooling to office locations.
Nuon subsidiary Dynamicom is mainly active in the Netherlands in the field of traffic installations and public lighting. Via Nuon Germany, Dynamicom is closely involved in street lighting activities in Berlin.

Nuon Warmte

The core activity of Nuon Warmte is the delivery of district heating. The source of heating we use for our district heating networks is the residual heat produced by large industrial processes such as those carried out at power stations, waste incineration plants and industrial chemical facilities. Converting this residual heat into useful district heating saves energy and thus enables a substantial structural reduction of CO2 emissions. Which is good for the environment, so also for the future. The same, incidentally, applies to the two cooling projects that were recently developed in Amsterdam.
