Nuon has established a leading position in the Dutch market as an integrated energy company. In addition, Nuon is building a presence in its two other core markets, Belgium and Germany. Nuon is also actively working on a leading position in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship. In this connection Nuon pursues balanced growth for all its stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders, the environment and society at large. Nuon always gears its actions to the central role that energy plays for the millions of households and organisations to whom it provides services.

Net turnover for 2006 amounted to € 5.6 billion. The number of employees at the end of 2006 was 9,768 FTEs. Nuon’s largest shareholders are the provinces of Gelderland and Noord-Holland, the municipality of Amsterdam and BV Houdstermaatschappij Falcon, whose shares are held by the province of Fryslân.
